Covid-19 is moving fast, so the French Government is ramping up the war against Covid-19! “Nous sommes en guerre”, “We are at war” is the strong theme of the President’s second speech.
I listened to Emmanuel Macron this morning (16 March at 8pm in France) and read the text of the speech. This formal address to the French People is as well crafted as the first one. And the President always speaks very clearly. So those of you who are fluent in French will enjoy listening to the speech (the text scrolls on the screen like the first time). The text will help if you are less fluent in French. Keeping up with the progress of the war against Covid-19 in Europe matters to many of us. Macron is driving for a coordinated European response as well as for a firm fight in France.
The above recorded address is on YouTube and is also available on the Elysée website where you can also read the text:
You can find all the President’s speeches on that site.
As always, we are here to help you learn French. In these times of pandemic we are increasingly tutoring on Skype for our private and semi-private French lessons and for our group French classes. Self isolating does not mean you have to stop learning French! We can help you exercise your brain, even when we all minimise contacts with the external world as Covid-19/ Coronavirus increasingly disrupts our lives.
